Phil Sissons

Hi, I'm Phil Sissons. I deliver better sales performance and more profitable projects to my many clients through Magic Consulting Limited.

With over 36 years in the IT industry, Phil Sissons is looking for fresh challenges in company set-up, programme or project management of information related systems. Phil Sissons has run significant divisions, and generated large revenues, for the UK arms of three US companies. The latter two divisions/companies were focused on the Health Service. In the last 12 years, Phil Sissons has built up his own consultancy business as a project manager and strategist, but would value opportunities in larger companies as well as continuing to provide a consultative service.

Non-Executive Chairman at Softech Development

2003 - 2005 | South East UK

Worked as NED Chair for a couple of years as project

Member at Intellect UK

1990 - 2005 | London UK

Intellect Uk was and remains the leading business lobby group for all High-Tech companies. While a member I represented the Healthcare industry group in a variety of discussion and lobby groups with Government bodies to try to improve the credibility of IT suppliers and to speed up the tortuous procurement process. I was lucky to be the Chair of the Health Group for two seperate sessions for a total of 6 years on behalf of my own employers and other suppliers. I was also proposed and accepted as a director of Intellect UK for a three year position. As a very small SME, I found myself presenting key views on behalf of the SME community in amongst industry heavyweights like IBM, Fujitsu, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle and many other leading and large companies. While broadly similar, the key differences for a large to a small company are very, very different. Few on eh Board of Intellect recognised this and I found that my opinions carried much more weight than company size would normally deliver. Taking these messages to senior levels in Government was also rather fun!!

Industry Liaison at NHS National Programme for IT/Connecting for Health

November 2002 - 2004 | Leeds and London, UK

Working for the Director General of NHS IT, I provided information and knowledge on the capabilities of the wide range of IT and service suppliers to the NHS prior to the LSPcontracts being awarded by NPfIT/CFH. I represented the NPfIT to the supplier community and maintained an extensive database of partnerships and areas of joint working.
